USM Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT) Score
About the BAT
The Bloomberg Assessment Test is a globally standardized test, administered online, typically hosted in a University computer lab. The test features 150 multiple choice questions across 11 subject areas (50% finance-based, 50% general career skills) and assesses a student’s aptitude for careers in finance, business and consulting.
Value Proposition
EMPLOYERS The BAT will help employers screen their overwhelming number of entry-level applicants more efficiently, consistently and objectively, and will help promote fairness, diversity and meritocracy. Employers will also be able to reach talented candidates outside their traditional recruiting channels and recruit students globally who have indicated their preferred employment location.
STUDENTS The BAT will help students demonstrate to employers in Finance, Consulting and Business around the world, that they are strong candidates for recruitment based on their unique skills. The BAT also allows students to view their abilities in comparison to their peers globally to discover the areas in which they need to focus more attention. The results could be used to decide the subjects they should be taking the following year and the roles within Finance they are better suited for.
UNIVERSITIES The BAT will help Universities demonstrate the quality of their students, assess/improve their finance curriculum and help facilitate student placement in financial careers across the globe.
In total, there were 117,573 students from all around the world participated in the test. USM with 81 takers, mainly from Finance Major SOM, recorded an average score equivalent to the world average. We also superseded the average score of those in the Asia & Pacific. The breakdown in the test indicated that our students performed exceptionally well in the area of News Analysis and Investment Banking with an average score of 58% and 44% respectively. These scores are significantly higher than the World and Other Regions average score. Congratulations to the 81 students and the SOM Finance Section!!!
