Top 10 Iranian Students in Malaysia and Top 3 Iranian Students in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences in Malaysia from School of Management (USM)

To celebrate Iran's 34th Anniversary of Islamic Revolution and Iran's National Day, an event was organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM Kuala Lumpur Campus) in its Conference Hall on February 4, 2013. The event was attended by Iranian university students, professors, and their families.

Among other invitees of the ceremony were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UTM, His Excellency Iran Ambassador in Malaysia, Scientific Counsellor, and Director of Iranian Students Affairs in South East Asia.

One of the special programmes of the event was the selection of the Top 10 Iranian students who are currently pursuing their postgraduate studies in Malaysia. The selection criteria included publications in academic peer-reviewed journals, conferences, books, and academic awards and achievements, and the students were ranked in 4 different categories, namely Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Basic/Applied Sciences, and Medical/Health Sciences.

Among the selected students, there were 4 representatives from USM, two of whom are currently PhD Candidates at School of Management, namely Mr. Mehran Nejati and Mr. Mostafa Nejati who were ranked as the First and Third Top Iranian Students in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, respectively.

We congratulate these young scholars on their achievements. We are also very delighted that USM students continue to be good representatives of our university and raise USM flag high in various scientific arenas. We are confident that we can achieve greater heights with hard work, passion and perseverance, as for us the researchers at USM, the sky’s the limit!
