Objectives

This program is a collaborated effort with SME Corp Malaysia to assist SMEs in enhancing their business performance. It involves the participation of students to engage with the SMEs and expose them to the real life of running and operating a venture.

 

The objectives of this Program include the following:

  • to assist SMEs in improving business performance and productivities through consultative approach by university students, under the supervision and guidance by their lecturers, as well as SME Corp. Malaysia’s Business Counselors
  • to promote entrepreneurship among students and to provide exposure on real life business environment; and
  • to help the students to acquire the essential skills required both, either for working in the small firm or to start their own enterprises upon leaving full time education

Highlights

  1. Infinite Consultant (under the advisory of Dr. Abdul Hadi Zulkafli) won the first prize.
  2. This group will automatically compete at the national level in September.
  3. The final presentation demonstrated the ability of the students to improve the performance of the companies. The improvement areas include business operations, production, management, financial management, marketing and application of ICT.
  4. Students that participated in this program believed that the program is valuable as they were able to gain experience and knowhow in a real business setting. In addition, they developed their skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, communication skills and teamwork skills.
