Dr. Teh Sin Yin receives the PERSAMA Award (Doctoral Thesis Category) and The Outstanding Dissertation Award
Dr. Teh Sin Yin is a recipient of two meritorious awards for her scholarly research in her PhD thesis. The awards are: (1) PERSAMA Award 2013 (Doctoral Thesis Category) and (2) Outstanding Dissertation Award.
The PERSAMA Award 2013 (Doctoral Thesis Category) conferred by the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society was presented to Dr. Teh in November 2013 in recognition of her excellent doctoral thesis entitled “New single variables control charts based on the double EWMA statistics”. She was one of the five winners shortlisted from twelve finalists. She received this award for her significant contribution in the area of study.
The Outstanding Dissertation Award was bestowed by the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Forum in January 2014. It is in appreciation and recognition of her outstanding achievement in doctoral research and unique contribution towards new knowledge. She was the sole recipient of this award. The award was presented in a ceremony held in conjunction with the Fourth International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in Bali, Indonesia.
Dr. Teh Sin Yin is also a recipient of the meritorious NANUM 2014 Travel Grants. The grant from the Travel Fellowship Fund was awarded by the organizing committee of International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2014 in recognition of her exceptional competence. Dr. Teh’s competence makes her a valuable asset to the future of mathematical studies and also to the SEOUL ICM 2014. The fund (USD$1,300~$2,700) will help defray her travel expenses to South Korea for her participation in ICM 2014.
