Biodata:

ADELINE LAU HOOI PING, Ph.D., M.Com., B. Bus., CA (M), CPA (Australia) is a senior lecturer of Accounting. Over the past 25 years, she has been involved in business, consultation, teaching, supervision, and research. She is a director of a development and construction company, and has initiated and implemented business strategies for diversification, cost reduction and risk management. She also worked as an accountant and undertook part time consulting work. She has designed and implemented computerized business systems, and streamlined administrative procedures and business systems.

Adeline has a passion for teaching and has taught students of various age groups; ranging from kindergarten children to working adults. Her flair for teaching began when she took on the job as a kindergarten teacher. Since then, she has taught undergraduate and diploma courses in private colleges and a public university in Malaysia, and tutored in Curtin University of Technology, Australia. She also conducted training sessions in Finance and Accounting for working adults. Adeline assisted in the design and review of courses, pedagogical methods, and has conducted research to improve instructional methods, curriculum design, and students’ thinking and learning skills. Her work experience in business and industrial organizations has helped her simulate real life scenarios in class and to use a live data approach to enrich students’ learning experiences.
